Obesity is a chronic, multifactorial disease that is largely outside of patient’s control. Despite their
efforts, there are physiological and metabolic factors that make losing weight and keeping it off
difficult. Intervening earlier to treat obesity can help prevent serious complications and deliver better outcomes for patients.
