Overview
There are an estimated two million healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) that occur each year; one in 20 hospitalized persons will contract a HAI (CDC, 2010). And the most common way for transmission of infection is via healthcare workers hands! This session is an introductory course for a series of classes that will focus on Infection Control point of view.
The course will cover some infection control terminology definitions, basic microbiology, and the chain of infection. The course is targeted to all healthcare workers who had either a direct or indirect interaction with patients.
The course will contain pre-assessment and post-assessment, with 5 MCQs that will take usually 5 min.
