Training and securing of preparedness for major incidents and disasters.
Overview
Proper training of all potentially involved staff is the most important part of preparedness for major incidents and disasters. The training should focus on decision making in the whole chain of response, from command level
to triage and treatment of casualties. This presentation describes an internationally well established model for such training, involving the whole chain of response and scientifically validated. The same model can also be used for testing of preparedness and performance in major incidents, as quality assurance and base for improvement. The presented model is developed under the leadership of professor Sten Lennquist and Dr Kristina Lennquist- Montán, well recognized for their
contributions in this field and with former commitments from the Swedish government, the European Union and the World Health Organization (WHO).
