Overview

This course is designed to teach the basics of health economic analysis in health care. Participants will first review the basic principles and concepts of health economic evaluations, then discuss how to collect and calculate the costs of different alternatives. In addition, participants will learn about measuring and valuing benefits in economic evaluations, the concepts of utilities and health related quality of life. Different health economics models and techniques will be reviewed, sensitivity analysis, and discounting. This course is suitable for those with little or no experience with health economics.
