Fundamental of Total Parenteral Nutrition in Adults
Overview
Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is a method of feeding that bypasses the gastrointestinal tract. Fluids are given into a vein to provide most of the nutrients the body needs. The method is used when a person cannot or should not receive feedings or fluids by mouth. The importance of total parenteral nutrition prevents malnutrition in patients who are unable to obtain adequate nutrients by oral or enteral routes.
During this lecture, we will discuss more and more with Dr. Nouf about total nutrition parenteral such as indicators, formulas...etc.
