Overview

Hospitals have variability regarding designated code team presence and composition, resuscitation algorithm, protocols for high-acuity events, and event review during newborn delivery. A resource-limited country will likely bridge the gap between limited situations requiring only basic newborn resuscitation using the bag and mask ventilation and better-equipped institutions where more advanced resuscitation is possible. Resources, education, and efforts could be directed to these areas to impact future neonatal outcomes of the complex patients potentially cared for in NICUs.

What I will learn?

By the end of this event, the learners will be able to:
- Clarify the standardized protocols for high-acuity.
- Clarify how to provide basic newborn resuscitation
- Describe the basics of high-acuity low-occurrence (HALO) events.
- Illustrate how to build clear policies and procedures correctly.
- Illustrate how to apply more advanced interventions in situations where they can be provided
- Describe how to uniform guidelines and strategies for practical resuscitation algorithm training.
- Improving adherence to evidence-based resuscitation to prevent neonatal deaths caused by respiratory depression.
